Laser Hair Removal:What to Expect

Unlike many other practices in the Bakersfield area, EuroPhoria Medical & Personal Spa offers a variety of lasers to treat different skin types and complexions, including people with darker skin tones. We will customize each laser hair removal treatment to ensure you receive the best results possible.

Before Treatment

  • Numbing isn’t necessary, but we offer it at an additional fee (must ask during booking)
  • For at least six weeks, don’t wax or tweeze any hairs that will be treated 
  • Stay out of the sun and tanning beds for one month before treatment 
  • No spray tans or self-tanner on the treatment area 10 days prior to treatment
  • Shave the area one day prior to treatment using a brand-new razor
  • Wear clothing that will make your treatment easier
  • We will clean and prep your skin
  • We will provide you with eye shields
  • If you have any stray hairs in the treatment area, they will be shaved

During Treatment

  • A handheld laser will pass over your skin, treating many hairs at once
  • The feeling of the laser is comparable to the snap of a rubber band
  • The laser lets out a burst of cryogen during each pulse, providing a cooling sensation 
  • An underarm appointment takes 5-10 minutes; Brazilian takes about 10 minutes; full legs take 15-20 minutes

Downtime

  • No exercising the day of and for 24 hours after treatment
  • Do not puncture the skin in any way after treatment
  • Do not remove any hairs in the treated area 
  • Avoid any activity that makes you sweat for 24 hours 
  • Avoid hot water for 48 hours 
  • Do not use makeup or perfume in the area for at least 48 hours 
  • Stay out of the sun for one week
  • Avoid any type of skin treatment in the area for two weeks
