Sometimes it feels like the entire world is against our skin. Aging, sun exposure, pollution, and other everyday factors can leave skin dull and wrinkled. Fortunately, with Broadband Light (BBL), you wave goodbye to these problems.
Better BBL-ieve It: Here’s What to Know
Broadband Light therapy treatments are very gentle and safe, and we will also apply a topical anesthetic if you prefer. We will use the BBL handheld device to deliver quick bursts of light energy directly into the skin. You may experience a low level of discomfort during treatment, which is often described as a warm, light “popping” sensation — almost like a rubber band being snapped lightly on the skin.
During the procedure, your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. The amount of time the treatment takes will depend on the size of the area being treated and the goal of the procedure.
There is virtually no downtime after BBL, and you will be able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment. That said, there may be some redness for several hours. Depending on the treated area, you may also experience some darkening of the skin, followed by fading and flaking off shortly thereafter. Be sure to avoid excessive sun exposure over the weeks following your BBL treatment.
During your consultation with us, we will let you how many BBL treatments you will need. We will need to evaluate your areas of concern and discuss your aesthetic goals first, but in general we recommend 3-5 treatments scheduled 3-4 weeks apart.
